The accounting for and management of sassets is an important issue for all local government. This Study is a significant contribution to the growing awareness of local government that decisiosn taken on the acquisition, maintenance, pricing and disposal of assets require careful consideration and community involvement.
The case studies used in the Study illustrate the wide range of activities for which local governments are responsible and demonstrate the different approaches which can be taken to ensure that the goal of maximum community benefit is achieved.
